Why We Do What We Do

Our Mission

The Forgotten Initiative’s mission is to bring joy and purpose—ultimately, to show Jesus—to the foster care community. We do this by bringing awareness to the needs of agency workers, foster parents, vulnerable adults and children, and then mobilize people to action.

Awareness on the national level takes place primarily through our podcast, social media platforms and speaking opportunities. On the local level, where the majority of action takes place, TFI’s volunteer Advocates work in their own communities to build long-term relationships with foster care agencies. As they learn the needs of their local foster care community, they mobilize and equip local churches to meet those identified needs through service projects, mentoring and family support initiatives.
